Composer · Visual Artist · Philosopher
For over three decades, I have worked at the confluences and interleaving folds of sound, image, fields of intuition, and deep inquiry beyond the borders of all orthodoxies. Through paintings, writings, essays, orchestral compositions, large-scale murals, poetic and vibrational language systems, and vibratory constellations that explore the deep nature of perception, memory, and the symbolic landscapes and constructs of thought.
My works are not mirror-imagery nor mimicries of what is simply visible and tangible to the fields of the physical senses per se, but invitations—gateways, apertures into symbolic landscapes, of what is beyond the word, the symbols, the sensations. It is the precipitations into physical realities of vibrations, modulated frequencies, and also the timeless questions of what it means to be, to perceive, to unfold.
That is to say: what also lies beyond the symbol? Beyond the symbol of sound or of the word? What are the non-verbal languages—the vibrational languages—that constitute a greater proportion of the universes of what is seen and unseen?
You may encounter my work on the walls of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin, where The Cosmogenic Dimensions and Interconnectedness lives as a 130-meter mural; or through my contributions to group exhibitions at the Goodman Gallery in South Africa; or within sonic and philosophical expositions across various institutions.
I also share insights through seminars and guest lectures at academic institutions, and as co-founder of Radio Future Africa, a platform that explores the psychologies and philosophies of being, perceptivity, intelligence, and deep listening as forms of awareness and inquiries into fields of the phenomenologies of existence.
My musical compositions are published by CWJEF Music Publications and distributed internationally via Theodore Front Musical Literature (USA & Canada) and Otto Harrassowitz (Europe).
